Dear all,
During our engine revisions, damage to the vacuum lines of the servo brakes on Porsche 911 - 997 vehicles has been found several times.
The lines are made of bare aluminum and very often have severe pitting. This pitting, a form of corrosion, takes place just below the rubber-protected sheet metal brackets.
Due to the pitting, the vacuum to the servo brake is not built up or is only built up insufficiently, because air can flow in.
In addition, air is continuously sucked in by the engine outside of the air mass meter and so the measurement results for the injection are falsified.
For the reasons mentioned above, I think it is urgently necessary to have these vacuum air lines of the brake checked by a competent person in your Porsche center and replaced if necessary.
The latest generation of these 997 vacuum lines has solid surface protection!
To check the line must be removed because
the damage is just below the clamps and is
"NOT" visible from the outside.
I'm happy to answer any questions.
Warm greetings

Addendum Due to multiple requests:
The costs for the line plus removal and installation,
(line, exhaust manifold, axle parts etc. and
all-round parts ) is around 500 euros.
